STATE KEY LAB TOURS
Most participants arrived by the 26th, the day befpore the workshop began. Students and plenary lecturers were able to tour the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Reaction Dynamics on the DICP campus, one of the premier catalysis labs in China. Xueming Yang of the DICP led the tour.

INFORMAL DINNER AT LOCAL SEAFOOD RESTAURANT
That night most participants met for dinner at a local seafood restaurant, arranged by DICP students and UCSB students who have previously spent time in Dalian doing their extended research visit under the PIRE-ECCI program. The seafood was very fresh, plentiful, and delicious - not to mention exotic.

XINGHAI SQUARE
Following the dinner, the group walked down to Dalian's famous Xinghai Square, adjacent to the beach and a short walk along the boardwalk back to the hotel.
